Santi is a young boy navigating the emotional upheaval caused by the separation of his parents, Rodrigo and Alejandra. This adjustment involves a shared custody arrangement where they meet occasionally. Currently, Santi is spending time with Rodrigo while his mother embarks on a trip with her new boyfriend, who is related to one of the wealthiest individuals in Mexico.

Rodrigo is a dedicated nursery doctor who often finds himself at the hospital attending to births, a commitment that strained his relationship with Alejandra and ultimately contributed to their divorce. One day, while at the hospital, Rodrigo asks Santi to bring him a cup of water. When Santi struggles to find the water jug, Rodrigo becomes concerned and takes him for an eye examination. The results reveal that Santi is suffering from juvenile glaucoma, a condition that threatens his eyesight. His eye doctor friend informs them that there is a potential surgery that could alleviate the issue, but it comes with a daunting 50/50 chance of complications that could leave Santi permanently blind.

In light of these circumstances, Santi creates a bucket list filled with experiences he wishes to share with both his parents before undergoing surgery. This list includes thrilling undertakings like attending a live wrestling match, enjoying horror films, diving with sharks, jet-skiing, and even viewing a naked woman, which his mother has always discouraged. He also yearns to revisit Acapulco, a place that holds significance as the location of his parents’ engagement.

Meanwhile, an old acquaintance, Irma, who has been infatuated with Rodrigo, unexpectedly appears, further complicating the situation. When Rodrigo attempts to retrieve his attention, he chases down Alejandra’s car, ultimately gaining access to their private plane just before a takeoff. To his surprise, her fiancé permits Alejandra to accompany Rodrigo, though they agree to stay in separate quarters.

As Santi embarks on his adventure, Alejandra diligently tries to help him improve his eyesight, sometimes going to great lengths, such as procuring crates of carrots to mix into his meals. Most of the wishes on Santi’s list are checked off, though some moments are fraught with challenges, like when Irma unexpectedly walks into their home, leading to chaos.

Their trip to Acapulco serves as a poignant reminder of their past; as Rodrigo and Alejandra rekindle their connection through shared music and fond memories. A nostalgic dinner leads to a tender kiss, illustrating that their bond still lingers.
