
Sammy and his sister Ellie find a cabin where Alice, a deaf girl with epilepsy, is held captive by her abusive stepfather. The three befriend and plan education and escape for Alice, but when the stepfather learns of the friendship, he brutally punishes her. The film shows loyalty and declares that all, despite disability, deserve humane treatment.
