In a maximum‑security women’s prison, playwright Eve Ensler leads a writing workshop for fifteen inmates, many serving murder sentences. Through exercises and candid talks, they confront pasts, motivations and responsibility, culminating in a prison performance of writing featuring Mary Alice, Glenn Close, Hazelle Goodman, Rosie Perez and Marisa Tomei.
