Daffy Duck Mel Blanc and Speedy Gonzales Mel Blanc, along with Speedy’s two mouse companions, push through a sun‑baked desert and stumble upon a well that looks like a lifeline. The well, owned by Daffy, becomes a stage for a stubborn clash over water: he refuses to share a single drop, instead gulping, showering, and watering the trees around it while the thirsty trio watches with growing desperation. The scene sets a quiet, comic tension between greed and mercy, framed by the scorching heat and the promise of relief.

Speedy devises a plan to lure the owner away so his friends can drink, but the camel guarding the well proves a formidable obstacle. Each clever attempt ends in another setback: Daffy shoots at them, the cup is shot full of holes, and the camel trips Speedy just as a new scheme unfolds. A later scheme mimics classic underground water tricks—Speedy travels beneath the surface with a hose, only to have Daffy emerge at the other end and fire again, turning determination into another round of slapstick danger.

In the final act, Daffy packs his camel with as much water as needed for a journey home and rigs the well with dynamite to deny access to the mice. Yet Speedy counters by tying the dynamite’s fuse to Daffy’s camel, ensuring the well stays safe for his friends. When Daffy and the camel roll in, panicked by the detonating tether, they dump all the water they had packed and beg for mercy. Speedy obliges by spraying him down, the desert air filling with the spray and the echo of the long-standing feud.
