The premise of Watandar, My Countryman without spoilers.
Photographer Muzafar Ali, an Afghan refugee, embarks on a journey to explore the long-standing presence of Afghans in Australia, discovering their heritage stretches back over 160 years. Through his photography, he connects with descendants—a diverse mix of Aboriginal, Afghan, and Colonial Australians—and uncovers a complex history of resilience and trauma.
