Fran, Marianne Morris, and Miriam, Anulka Dziubinska, two women in love, are shot to death in their bed at a rural English country house. They are resurrected as vampires and continue their deadly bond, luring unsuspecting visitors to the dilapidated estate so they can feed on blood in the quiet, shadow-filled rooms.

John Brian Deacon and Harriet Sally Faulkner are a young couple traveling through the countryside. They happen to drive past Fran and decide to camp near the haunted-looking house in their caravan for several days. Harriet is uneasy about the place and reveals that she once saw another woman, Miriam, hiding behind a tree when they passed Fran. That night, a torrential rain-storm pummels the estate as lights flicker inside the house and a mysterious figure peers out at the caravan; John searches the property but finds nothing amiss. The unease lingers, casting a chill over their questionable decision to stay close to the mansion.

The next morning, Ted, Murray Brown, a middle-aged man traveling through the area, notices a solitary car accident and the lone male victim nearby. Fran, now posing as a hitchhiker, obtains a ride from Ted to the house. Inside, the two share a charged moment, and the encounter ends with Ted leaving the home the next morning with a wound on his arm—though he initially blames a broken wine glass. Ted later stops by John and Harriet’s caravan to rest and have his wound seen to, before returning to the estate. That evening, Fran returns with Miriam and their newest lure, Rupert, Karl Lanchbury, a young man drawn into the trap. The trio slips Rupert away from the others and, after a tense night, Fran and Miriam murder and feed on Rupert, washing away the evidence in the shadows of the wine-dark rooms. Miriam urges Fran not to get emotionally involved or stray from their brutal routine.

Curiosity pulls Harriet deeper into the mystery. The following morning, she trails the two women into the woods, watching as they pass through a church graveyard. Meanwhile, Ted leaves in his car only to encounter another roadside accident—the victim this time is Rupert. Shaken, Ted returns to the house and, in a moment of panic, locks himself in the cellar beneath the estate. That night, Fran and Miriam return to the house and find Ted waiting, wearing fatigue and anemia. Fran begins feeding on his arm while he lies passive, and Miriam joins in, both women feeding and then sharing a moment of intimacy as Ted lies between them.

Harriet eventually enters the house and discovers Fran and Miriam sleeping in the cellar’s darkness. John intervenes, forcing Harriet out, anxious they will be cited for trespassing. Ted, now weak but stubborn, remains in Fran’s bedroom, but the two vampires—seeing a fresh opportunity—return to the cellar with a new, self-assured guest, a suave playboy, Michael Byrne. They lead him to the cellar and stab him to death, adding another body to the estate’s growing legend. Ted, mustering what remains of his strength, crawls back to John and Harriet’s caravan. John tries to drive for safety, but Fran and Miriam corner him and murder him in the car. Harriet, drawn by a mix of fear and resolve, is attacked by the two women again and dragged into the wine cellar, where they slit her throat.

Dawn breaks over the estate as Ted staggers to his car in a daze. A realtor arrives with fresh clients in tow—the elderly American couple keen to purchase the property. The realtor explains that the estate has long been difficult to sell, said to be haunted by two women who were murdered there. As Ted drives away, the weight of what happened lingers in the air, a quiet testament to the house’s chilling legacy and the lingering hunger of Fran and Miriam, two eternally bound vampires who have turned a rural retreat into their own private hunting ground.
