Umbilicus 2025

A family raises their children in a unique and isolated way, seemingly detached from societal norms. The grandmother, mother, and their two teenage children, Orestes and Danae, adhere to a particular religion centered around a snake goddess. The women exert considerable control over the children, who retain a childlike innocence and remain largely unaware of the outside world. When Orestes's innocence is seemingly lost, the family initiates a disturbing process to usher him and his sister into adulthood. This initiates a shift in dynamics, particularly as Orestes is treated as a means of reproduction, raising questions about his fate and the potential danger posed by his family.
