Sylvester is in Yellowstone National Park, and, hearing birds chirping, climbs up the tree toward Tweety’s nest, despite warnings from the park staff. Tweety hasn’t hatched yet, so Sylvester must wait him out. When Tweety finally hatches, he pokes the cat in the rear with a pin needle to drive him away, triggering a fast-paced chase. Tweety hides in a hole in the tree; the cat forces him out with an air pump, but Tweety counters by launching a stick of dynamite upward. The chase moves to another tree as Tweety begins sawing the branch Sylvester is perched on.
Some time later, Tweety sings about what Sylvester would want with him, while Sylvester sits below, scarred and bruised from trying to scale the barbed-wire-covered tree. Irritated, Sylvester hacks the tree down, and it collapses onto him, leaving him dazed under the wreckage.
Sylvester then tries to use a swing to reach Tweety on a higher branch, only to swing into a construction mallet that flattens him.
Later, people are taking pictures of Tweety perched on a tree stump. Sylvester, disguised as a cameraman, moves up close to Tweety, pops his head through the camera lens, and attempts to eat him, but the park ranger catches him in the act and rebukes him for violating park rules.
The next trick involves Tweety hiding in Old Faithful’s geyser, which erupts exactly when the clock below reaches 12:00. Tweety sets the clock to 12:30 and jumps in, while Sylvester tries to intercept. Tweety then resets the clock back to 12:00, causing the geyser to erupt at the correct moment and push the cat upward.
Tweety hops onto a log and starts rowing down a river, with Sylvester close behind in a rowboat. A waterfall looms ahead; Tweety leaps off, but Sylvester does not, and he frantically struggles to row upward toward safety. Tweety, in a final twist, activates the emergency control, sending Sylvester into midair. He waves goodbye and falls toward the water, while Tweety remarks that Sylvester is likely to hurt himself if he isn’t more careful.
