What Is Trofim About?

One of three shorts in Arrival of a Train, created for cinema’s centenary, the film is set at the turn of the 20th century. It follows Trofim, a Russian peasant whose jealousy over his wife's affair with his brother drives him to kill his brother and flee to St. Petersburg. As he steps off the train onto the platform, cameraman filming captures arrival.
