In Los Angeles, a couple, Jane Palmer, Lizabeth Scott, and Alan Palmer, Arthur Kennedy, are heading home from a party when fate intervenes. A driver from another car tosses a bag of cash into their vehicle, and the Palmers quickly find themselves pursued by another vehicle.
