Three Loan Wolves 1946

Eggbert, Jackie Jackson becomes the unlikely catalyst in a story told by the Stooges to their son about how they became inadvertent fathers. The Stooges—Moe, Moe Howard; Larry, Larry Fine; and Curly, Curly Howard—own a pawn shop that sinks deeper under crushing debts to the Gashouse Protection Society, a ruthless loan-sharking syndicate. Their troubles take a sharper turn when a woman, in league with these crooks, leaves an infant with them as part of a scheme to peddle a counterfeit diamond.

With Eggbert in their care, the trio fumbles through every basic task—feeding, soothing, and calming again—resulting in a cascade of chaotic mishaps that ripple through the shop. The men’s attempts to calm a crying baby collide with the pressures of debt, and each comic misstep brings them closer to losing everything. The looming demands from the loan sharks intensify, reinforcing the danger they face while trying to keep the shop afloat.

A tense showdown finally erupts as the Stooges face the criminals. The First Henchman, Wally Rose, and the Second Henchman, Joe Palma, close in as the trio improvises a plan to turn the tables and win the day, saving themselves, Eggbert, and the shop from ruin. In the aftermath, the child’s true origins begin to come into focus, guiding Eggbert toward his birth mother.

Eggbert, now aware of the truth, makes the bold choice to leave the pawn shop behind in order to seek his mother. The tale closes with Moe and Curly, privately blaming Larry for the entire fiasco, mulling a playful retribution against their hapless comrade, while the shop’s walls echo with the memories of a misadventure that began with a debt and ended in an unlikely act of fatherhood.
