Thomman, Rajan P Dev, a former thief trying to reform, teams up with his two sons, Mammootty as Shivan and Lal as Sathyan, to build a steady, hardworking life. The trio dreams big and embraces a simpler, more industrious path, even as their past shadows linger in the background.

They pick up a new life on wheels, owning a lorry and seeking regular work to steady their days. Their plan meets a rough test when the vehicle breaks down in the countryside near Udumalpet, a setback that quickly becomes a catalyst for bigger troubles. In a moment of desperate hunger, Sathyan sneaks into the house of Panikkar, played by Janardhanan, and steals some food, a misstep that spirals into a much larger conspiracy. The food is later mixed with poison by Panikkar, under oppression from Thevar, the village head; this oppression comes as Panikkar’s son cheats him and his daughter, a grievance that fuels deep local tensions. The tainted meal is eaten by Thomman, and he is rushed to the hospital, where his family waits with anxious hearts as his life hangs in the balance.

Upon returning home, Thomman and his sons confront Panikkar to uncover the truth behind the troubling events. In the midst of these shifting loyalties, Poonkavanam, Thevar’s daughter Laya, falls in love with Shivan.
