What Is The Sentimentalists About?
The premise of The Sentimentalists without spoilers.
A seemingly respectable, elderly bourgeois known as 'The Master' lives a secluded life in a luxurious beachfront villa with his teenage daughter. However, he leads a secret life as an illicit trader of antiquities, a loan shark, and a black market dealer. He employs two henchmen, Mercury and John, to handle his criminal activities. Both men make critical errors: Mercury develops feelings for the daughter, while John becomes obsessed with a prostitute. As a consequence of their sentimental attachments, both must be eliminated.
