What Is The Resolution About?
The premise of The Resolution without spoilers.
Shot in 1972 but withheld until 1982, this Hungarian documentary by Gyula Gazdag and Judit Ember was banned for a decade before its first Western festival screenings last year. It follows a financially‑strapped rural community that summons a Budapest specialist to reorganize its affairs. Though his reforms work, his brusque manner provokes the local committee, leading to a real‑time filmed debate that blurs documentary and courtroom drama, highlighting how bureaucratic arrogance can spark conflict anywhere.
