The Goob 2014
During a summer heatwave in rural Fenland, England, sixteen-year-old Goob Taylor works alongside his mother at their transport cafe and in the beet fields. His life changes when his mother begins a relationship with Gene Womack, a charismatic stock-car racer. Feeling displaced, Goob's perspective shifts with the arrival of Eva, a new beet picker. Her playful nature sparks dreams of a different life for the young man, hinting at possibilities beyond his familiar surroundings.
