Leeann [Alix Wilton Regan], Maddox [Philip Brodie], Kayne [Vicky Araico], Nicholson [Toby Bowman], and Jonesy [Rob Oldfield] anchor a bleak, three-part narrative about a zombie outbreak on a British landscape, where human fear and moral strain intertwine with a creeping threat. In the opening sequence, soldiers of the British army clear a small cluster of farmhouses alongside two scientists who take a tissue sample from a deceased civilian who seems to have been reanimated, only to be shot again, underscoring the blunt, unflinching reality of the crisis.

Chapter One, The Outbreak, begins in London, painting a portrait of a city torn between dismissal and paranoia as a mysterious disease creeps toward Britain. The film then pivots to the countryside, where a documentary crew films material related to the virus and confronts the outbreak firsthand. As the narrative unfolds, the fates of the central figures—Leeann, Maddox, Kayne, Nicholson, and Jonesy—are revisited and reinterpreted in the second half, their choices and tensions echoing through the evolving world outside the city.

Chapter Two, The Scavengers, takes place one month later. Two men (one American) and one woman traverse the rural roads in a small car, armed with a rifle and driven by a single goal: to scavenge for food and salvage radio parts while fending off scarcity and danger.

Chapter Three, The Survivors, follows a larger group of uninfected people who have established a camp on a farm. They balance reconnaissance of the surrounding area with constant defense against the relentless tide of infected, all while frictions and suspicions flare within the group. In the opening scenes of this chapter, the survivors quietly execute approaching infected, a stark moment that sets the tone for what follows. Yet the closing pages swing back in time to the earliest nights of the documentary crew’s diary, revealing that the label “survivors” becomes tragically ironic: almost everyone pinned as survivors falls to two uninfected psychopaths. The two murderers themselves endure, one vanishing after aiding in the slaughter of the film crew and the other eventually turning on the last of the survivors, a grim coda to a story that rides the line between endurance and atrocity.
