Spoilers ahead
Dawn is a 25-year-old aspiring artist living in a small Texas town with her two sisters and their grandmother Birdie, who became their legal guardian after the girls were orphaned. With dreams of attending art school in Paris, Dawn faces a financial hurdle after spending a portion of her savings on Birdie’s medical expenses. The situation tightens when her sister Emily nudges her toward a dating reality show called The Honeypot, hoping the appearance fee could bridge the gap for two years of study. Dawn, initially reluctant, agrees to audition and is stunned to learn she’s cast on the upcoming season, which will be filmed not in Paris, but at a ranch in Paris, Texas.
