
Diego, a senior figure in the Spanish Communist Party, travels from Madrid toward Paris. At the border he is briefly detained for an identity check but manages to secure his release. Once in Paris he begins a frantic search for a fellow comrade, hoping to keep him from returning to Madrid where he risks arrest.
