Set in fourth‑century Japan, the story follows Prince Ouso, heir apparent, whose ambitious vassal Otomo schemes to replace him with his stepbrother. Otomo sends Ouso on a deadly mission, but Ouso survives, returning as the legendary Prince Yamato Takeru.
