Zhao Xingde, favored by commander Zhu Wangli, rescues Uighur princess Tsurpia during a raid; they fall in love. Sent to study in Xixian, he returns to find her pledged to Li. Xingde and Zhu plot revenge, confronting Li at Dun‑Huang and create a tribute to their love.
