The evil Dr. Krupp, Luis Aceves Castañeda, a mad scientist also known as “the Bat,” escapes the snake pit into which he was thrown by Popoca the Aztec Mummy Ángel Di Stefani in the previous film and presses on with his relentless bid to seize a priceless Aztec treasure from Popoca’s tomb. He conceives a stark plan to outsmart the ancient guardian by fashioning a terrifying machine: a robot with a human head and brain—a true cyborg—built with one purpose, to destroy the mummy should it ever return to thwart his schemes.
