The Phoenix Project (2015): Cast & Plot

Perry Frank assembles a team of four young scientists to take part in an experiment to reanimate the dead: Devin Fischer, Carter Watts, and Ampersand Garner. The project is funded with a strict limit: they only have budget for five subjects, so the work must move forward slowly, carefully, and with meticulous documentation captured in taped interviews that Perry arranges. As the cameras roll, the group projects warmth and optimism, even as each member wrestles with the gravity of what they’re attempting. Devin opens up to Perry about the shadow of his father’s legacy—how his own father, a scientist, longed to finish work that others would complete later—and explains that he wants to push this experiment to its limits.
