Maiquel [Murilo Benício] is a single, ordinary man living in the Baixada Fluminense region of Rio de Janeiro. After losing a soccer bet, Maiquel must dye his hair blond, a quirky moment that disrupts his routine and signals how far things will drift. He asks his hairdresser, Cledir Cláudia Abreu, to join him at a bar, where he is confronted and bullied by the local thug Suel, Wagner Moura. He decides to settle the matter by buying a rifle and using it to shoot Suel the next day, and he does so in front of Suel’s girlfriend.
