The Inheritance 2024

On the night of his 75th birthday, billionaire Charles Abernathy invites his family to his mansion, a gathering that includes his son Drew, his son C.J., his twin sister Madeline, and his younger sister Kami—a popular social media influencer. The event is meant to be an intimate family reunion, despite Charles explicitly instructing that only blood relatives should attend. Out of loyalty or perhaps curiosity, Drew brings along his wife, Hannah.

Early in the evening, Charles cryptically announces that there’s a price on his head, which will be collected at midnight, and only his blood relatives can save him. He locks his children inside the mansion, removing outside communication and security staff, leaving only his loyal butler, Miles Hartmen, to tend to him. Charles then retreat to his private library, waiting for the inevitable. Meanwhile, the family begins experiencing eerie paranormal phenomena—strange noises, unexplained movements, and unsettling disturbances creep through the grand estate.

Tragedy strikes when Kami is violently murdered while alone in the indoor swimming pool room. When her body is discovered, the remaining family members are thrown into chaos, questioning whether a killer is trapped within the mansion. Charles dismisses their fears, attributing the events to a curse he believes he bears due to his past misdeeds. He ominously warns that the spirit targeting him will grow more aggressive as midnight approaches. Hannah, feeling out of place and unnerved, refuses to leave despite Charles offering her an exit. As the night progresses, all security and staff are gone, and the mansion is left in darkness.

Later, Drew and Hannah attempt to leave, but supernatural forces intervene. They are chased by strange noises and eventually cornered in a vault where C.J. and Madeline lock them inside. Inside the vault, they notice the air thinning, and it becomes clear that they are slowly suffocating. Meanwhile, the twin siblings confront a shadowy, malevolent entity that begins attacking them. An invisible presence drags Madeline into a room where Kami’s ghostly image reemerges, attacking her. C.J., in a desperate attempt, fires shots at the apparition, only to realize that he has shot and killed Madeline in reality, revealing her true fate.

Devastated by her death, C.J. releases Hannah and Drew from their confinement, urging them to uncover the truth about what Charles did to cause these deaths. They discover a hidden room containing a grimoire and occult artifacts indicating Charles had entered into a pact with a demon named Mammon. As they piece together the story, Kami’s ghost reappears as a ghoul, terrifying C.J. into falling from a staircase. The ghostly form drains his life force, effectively killing him.

Fleeing from the increasingly aggressive supernatural presence, Hannah and Drew seek refuge in Charles’s study. There, Charles finally confesses that, after his father ruined their name and fortune, he struck a deal with Mammon to rebuild his empire—one that would require him to surrender his soul on his 75th birthday. However, Charles later renegotiated the pact, opting to survive at the cost of his family line. Shockingly, he then shoots Drew in the head. When Hannah attempts to escape, Charles fires at her too, but she manages to flee using a shotgun found nearby.

The chase concludes with Hannah knocking Charles to the floor using his own firearm, where a large grandfather clock falls, pinning him down. Charles warns that if he dies, Hannah will inherit nothing. She counters that she has no interest in his wealth and warns him that the demon Mammon still hunts him. As Charles questions whether his children’s deaths fulfill his contract, Hannah reveals that she is pregnant with a granddaughter—who is the true heir to the Abernathy legacy.

As the clock strikes midnight, shadowy ghouls representing Kami, Madeline, C.J., and Drew gather around, and Mammon materializes, claiming Charles’s soul and killing him. The next morning, Miles is the one to discover the horrific scene inside the mansion. Hannah, having survived the night, leaves the estate in a limousine, carrying the weight of her future family and the dark secrets buried within the Abernathy mansion.
