At the Hotel Termas, a run-down hotel located in the quaint town of La Ciénaga, two teenage girls, Amalia and Josefina, embark on a personal journey to navigate their emerging sexuality while grappling with their devout Catholic upbringing. Amalia, who lives with her strikingly beautiful divorced mother—who happens to be the hotel’s owner—and her uncle Freddy, finds herself caught in a whirlwind of conflicting spiritual and sexual feelings.

The atmosphere intensifies when a medical conference unfolds at the hotel. Amidst the vibrant crowd captivated by a theremin musician’s performance, Dr. Jano, a participant and fellow guest, crosses boundaries by inappropriately touching Amalia. Although shaken and disturbed, she interprets this unsettling encounter as a calling from her faith, a mission to “save” Dr. Jano from his transgressions. What ensues is a complex web of emotions where the middle-aged, married doctor becomes the focal point of Amalia’s infatuation.
