What Is The General Inspector About?
The premise of The General Inspector without spoilers.
The plot follows the mayor of Morschi, a man married to a dancer, who has a son from his first marriage. Ambitious and unscrupulous, he exploits the peasantry to further his own goals, ignoring their welfare. When he learns a ministry official will investigate him, he believes the inspector‑general is among them and, through a friend, attempts to bribe and deceive the official.
