Sr. Rani Maria is a Catholic nun and social worker dedicated to helping the poor and marginalized in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Known to the local people as Indore Ki Rani—the Queen of Indore—she earns their deep respect and affection through tireless service and genuine compassion. Her life also reflects a warmth outside her ministry: a loving family in Kerala, where she was born and raised, which anchors her in faith and memory.

As her work grows, so do the threats from powerful, influential figures who feel their interests challenged by her advocacy for the rights and dignity of the needy. In a bid to silence her, they hire a hitman named Saminder Singh. He trails her movements, waiting for the moment to strike, insinuating danger into the routine of her peaceful mission.

The moment arrives on a bus trip to Kerala, where Sr. Rani Maria is traveling for a brief vacation. [Saminder Singh] follows closely and attacks her in front of stunned passengers, stabbing her multiple times as fear and disbelief ripple through the crowd. The attack is brutal and swift, and Sr. Rani Maria dies at once, leaving behind a scene of tragedy, sorrow, and a community that mourns a beloved figure.

Following the incident, the police arrest [Saminder Singh] and charge him with murder. The case grabs headlines, and the city and nation react with outrage and grief. The villagers of Indore, who had long cherished Sr. Rani Maria, join in the mourning, while the family in Kerala grapples with the sudden loss of a sister, a daughter, and a beacon of hope. Amid the shock, the family receives a handwritten letter from Sr. Rani Maria herself, written before her death, in which she expresses love for her killer and asks her family to consider forgiveness, echoing her unwavering faith in mercy.

Moved by the nun’s message and the family’s response, they choose a path of forgiveness. They visit [Saminder Singh] in prison, stand by him at the trial, and plead for mercy and understanding. This act of grace profoundly affects all involved. Saminder Singh experiences a turning point, expressing remorse for his crime and choosing a new life path. He undergoes a spiritual conversion to Christianity and joins the Franciscan order, dedicating himself to serving the poor and spreading a message of forgiveness and peace.
