Read the complete plot summary of The Big 4, including all major events, twists, and the full ending explained in detail. Explore key characters, themes, hidden meanings, and everything you need to understand the story from beginning to end.
After four highly skilled assassins—Alpha, Pelor, Jenggo, and Topan—successfully dismantle a nefarious operation that uses an orphanage as a front for organ harvesting, the time comes for their leader, Petrus, to retire. Before he departs, Petrus informs Topan of his close friendship with Hassan, a law enforcement officer, and reveals an emotional undercurrent: Petrus’s daughter, Dina, a cop, has grown closer to Hassan than to him.
Petrus’s retirement is expedited by the dark turn of events when Dina arrives home to find her father murdered. Witnessing a masked figure next to his lifeless body—this figure being Topan, who came to check on him—Dina is plunged into a quest for justice and truth. Following three years of burying her grief beneath her duties as a by-the-book officer, she receives vacation fliers from her supervisor, sparking memories of her father’s wishes to retire on Bersi Island at Paranais Villa. A photo of her father with four kids and the cap worn by the masked man complicates her emotions further.
Ignoring Hassan’s reservations, Dina travels to Bersi Island, where she finds herself amidst danger and secrets. At Paranais Villa, run by Topan and his crew, she discovers Topan recognizes her, prompting his desire to send her away quickly. When two assassins search for Dina, Topan deftly disposes of them while keeping her in the dark. As the plot thickens, Dina uncovers her father’s secret past and his connections to Topan’s group.
An encounter ensues at Jenggo’s Karmic center, where Dina unwittingly gets high on frog skin. Amidst this chaos, the ruthless criminal lord Antonio makes his move, threatening her newfound allies. Topan, fueled by protective instincts, races after her. Ultimately, Antonio’s crew corners them, forcing a violent confrontation where loyalties, identities, and motivations are put to the test.
As the chaos unfolds, it becomes evident that Antonio, fueled by jealousy and ambition, harbors a deep-seated grudge against Petrus and his assassins. The revelation that Suranto was involved in Petrus’s murder adds another layer of complexity to the already tumultuous situation.
Determined to avenge her father and protect those close to her, Dina draws on her own resilience. With the support of her allies, including Pelor and Alpha, she fights back against Antonio’s ruthless forces. The climactic showdown at Paranais Villa spills over into chaotic violence, pitting the essence of familial love against the brutal realities of their world.
In the end, after a series of betrayals and revelations, Topan confronts Antonio, only to discover a deeper conspiracy that links Hassan to the sinister forces at play.
This entangled web of resolution leaves Dina with both the pain of loss and newfound strength as she takes a pivotal step toward reclaiming her father’s legacy while grappling with the truth of those around her. Will she uncover the identity of the mysterious figure pulling the strings, or will the past continue to haunt her? As they retreat from the chaos, Topan leaves Dina with a key from Petrus, a final piece to the puzzle that challenges her understanding of family, fear, and vengeance.
