The premise of Summer of ’44 - The Lost Generation without spoilers.
Set in Schwäbisch Hall during the summer of 1944, this film follows a group of sixteen-year-old boys yearning for swing music, romance, and freedom, a stark contrast to the prevailing war propaganda. Their attention is captivated by Lore, an air force helper known for her striking red swimsuit. As they navigate their desires, a sense of dread grows, fueled by the suspicions of friends like Knuffke, Bubu, Tongue Kiss, and Hosenmacher, who fear they won't avoid the realities of the front lines. Lore's casual farewell, "Stay tuned," foreshadows the tragic events that will soon befall them, marking a loss that will irrevocably alter their lives.
