Durga, Nirupa Roy, and Vikram Kapoor, Amjad Khan, have been married for years. Vikram’s turn to crime has pulled him into a deadly feud with Jaggi, a rival gangster portrayed by Kader Khan. The couple’s life is shaken when Durga gives birth to twins, but Jaggi steals one of the babies and sells him to a bootlegger named Pascal. Durga is heartbroken to learn her son is missing, and her pain deepens when Vikram abandons her.

With immense resilience, Durga raises her surviving son, Kishan Shashi Kapoor, and she gradually gives up hope of ever finding the other child. Kishan grows up to be a dedicated police officer, his sense of duty guiding every step of his life. In a parallel thread, Pascal has taken advantage of Amit, a well-educated man who has fallen into petty crime and alcoholism. Amit, caught in a spiral of bad choices, crosses paths with Kishan in a tense confrontation, and the two men eventually form a fast friendship, binding two very different fates together.

Unbeknownst to him, Vikram remains unaware that his wife and both sons are alive. In a bid to eliminate Kishan, he hires Amit without revealing his true identity, planning an attack during Navratri at Maa Sherawali’s temple. Amit, while torn between loyalty and past misdeeds, informs Kishan of the danger, and together with other police personnel, they set up a guarding presence to thwart the ambush.

The couple’s past and present collide as the plan unfolds. Things do not go as expected: the attackers strike, and Kishan is blinded in the ensuing chaos, shifting the burden of justice squarely onto Amit’s shoulders. With the stakes cripplingly high, Amit steps into the role of protector, racing to uncover the truth behind the crime and bring those responsible to account.
