Eddie [Luke Carroll] is working as a cleaner in a museum in Perth, Western Australia, until a chaotic accident triggers a domino effect of cardboard cutouts featuring Australia’s Prime Ministers. The cascade ends when a cutout of John Howard lands on and kills his boss’s cat, a surreal mishap that costs Eddie his job and sets the film in motion.

When his cousin Charlie [Leon Burchill] trades away Eddie’s beloved jacket, Eddie unwittingly loses a sacred stone entrusted to him by his uncle, a precious item he vows to return to its home in Kalgoorlie. This loss becomes the final straw for Eddie, who resolves to recover the stone and reconnect with his aboriginal roots, setting off on a journey that is as much about heritage as it is about restitution. The quest is complicated by family drama: Charlie, escaping the wrath of his vengeful girlfriend, forces himself along for the ride, and Eddie’s spiritual voyage quickly takes a sharp, off‑track turn.

Along the dusty road, the duo encounter misadventure when they mistake someone for a “hot chick,” only to meet Vinnie [Valentino del Toro], a self-described Italian rock star, whose presence adds a chaotic energy to their already tangled quest. The group is further enlarged when Regina, Charlie’s transgender cousin [David Page], arrives with dreams of making it big on the Koori edition of Australian Idol. A new dynamic enters the mix as a confused European Australian cop [Peter Phelps] who longs to go walkabout becomes entangled in their journey, bringing a different perspective to the voyage.

Together, Eddie, Charlie, Regina, and their unexpected companions navigate the rough edges of family loyalty, cultural identity, and the search for belonging, all while chasing the fragile thread of a sacred stone that could redefine what home means for each of them.
