Kannan [Dileep] is a suave con-man and the son of a fashion weaver, Ayyappanasaan. His father had sent him to fashion designing, but Kannan dreams of getting rich overnight, chasing quick money through small-time schemes. His inner circle includes Yesu, also known as Yesudas, [Lal], a brash yet loyal goon, and Vasu, a loyal and rough-around-the-edges ally [Kalabhavan Shajon], who stand by him as they plot to woo wealthy women and marry them for a fast living. The trio drifts through flirtations and faux romances, each escapade nudging Kannan closer to a life he believes he deserves.
One fateful day, while accompanying Vasu on a delivery, Kannan travels to Varmaji’s house—a respected Thampuran of the Kovilakam and a longtime friend of Ayyappanashan. There, he crosses paths with Radhu, [Vedhika], Varmaji’s granddaughter, and he instantly falls for her. In a moment of impulsive charm, Kannan accidentally disrupts a pooja being held at the place and is forced to stay for more than a fortnight. As the days pass, his attraction deepens; he even slips into Radhu’s room, hoping for privacy, only to be met with Radhu’s bemused laughter and a reminder that she does not take his words at face value.
Radhu’s world is complicated by her father, D. Gopi Prasad alias DGP, a formidable gangster who runs a crime empire out of Bombay and is determined to shield his daughter from enemies who would use her to retaliate against him. Joy Mathew plays this central figure whose profession has caused the death of Radhu’s mother, Revathy. Radhu’s stubborn independence clashes with DGP’s protective instincts, and she confesses that she loves Kannan, but she knows her father’s reach makes their union nearly impossible. If DGP learns of the romance, Kannan would be shot on sight. Yet Radhu declares that if Kannan can stand up to her father and win her hand, she would go with him.
Kannan’s fear of confronting a crime boss grows, and DGP orders him to leave the house by morning. That night, from the veranda of the outhouse, Kannan notices an assassin aiming at Radhu and intervenes just in time, triggering a tense confrontation. The destabilizing moment prompts DGP to demand that the killer be found before allowing Kannan to stay. To help, Kannan enlists Yesu, who disguises himself as an astrologer, hoping to glean clues that can guide them to the truth. This odd alliance fuels a chain of misdirections as the truth about Radhu’s whereabouts becomes increasingly murky.
Varmaji, initially wary of Kannan’s presence, eventually learns of the couple’s love and openly accepts it. His blessing comes with a plan to marry Radhu to Kannan, and he even envisions Revathy’s temple wedding in Mellkkallur as a dream come true. Yet he is cautious, asking DGP for approval, who stubbornly refuses. Yesu becomes a crucial ally, guiding Kannan toward Radhu with a new plan: Mahalingam, a kidnapping specialist [Baburaj], helps them relocate Radhu to Mellkkallur. Their journey threads through a web of clues that lead them from Mellkkallur to Thrissur in pursuit of Radhu, who seems always one step ahead.
As the plot thickens, Varmaji discovers Radhu in Kannan’s company again and confronts them with a slap, only to realize that the two are truly in love. He supports their union and the plan to bring Radhu to a temple wedding, even as the larger web of danger presses in from every side. The team moves to the Mellkkallur temple, only to be thrust into chaos when the killer—who had previously attacked Radhu—reappears, threatening their chance at happiness. DGP arrives to defend his daughter, and the danger is not yet over.
The wedding plan accelerates even as the truth behind Revathy’s death is slowly revealed. DGP recounts a past police operation in Bandra in which Revathy, one of the medical students, was kidnapped by Ahuja’s gang, and DGP’s fierce bid to save her culminated in a brutal firefight. He admits to having killed many of Ahuja’s men and to maiming Ahuja, who was hoping to orchestrate a crime against Revathy. Revathy’s life—and Radhu’s birth—had reshaped DGP’s world, catapulting him into leadership of a dangerous criminal empire. Ahuja remains a surviving threat, intent on revenge, and his memory haunts DGP as he fights to protect Radhu.
In time, the truth becomes a tangled knot: Ahuja’s vengeance is not purely personal, and the threat to Radhu remains a constant undercurrent. The Holi festival becomes a brutal turning point, when Ahuja returns and kills Revathy, forcing DGP to vent his wrath on Ahuja and his men in a violent confrontation that leaves Ahuja dead and his own daughter struck by crossfire. Ahuja’s last words hint that Radhu will fall to one of his men—an ominous warning that churns in the present as DGP brings Radhu back to Kerala for a safer, more controlled marriage.
Back in the present, the security for Radhu’s marriage is tight, yet a well-timed attack by a gang of thugs disrupts the procession. Vikram, Ahuja’s son Rahul Dev, enters with vengeance on his mind and aims to kill Radhu as his father’s last wish dictates. The chase intensifies as Kannan, aided by his friends, fights off Vikram’s men and searches for a way to protect Radhu. Yesu provides critical help once again, handing a weapon to Kannan in a moment of crisis, and the two fathers collide in a confrontation that tests every thread of loyalty.
In a dramatic twist, DGP is forced to confront his own actions when the weapon falls into the wrong hands, and Ukken Tintu, a witty and fearless police officer Shammi Thilakan, intervenes. Tintu screens the so-called Kannan and reveals the truth about DGP’s deeds with a cunning blend of humor and hard-nosed justice. The final denouement sees DGP’s arrest for the murder of Vikram, although Kannan tells him to surrender and insists that his priority is Radhu’s happiness. In a moment of shared tenderness, Kannan and Radhu reaffirm their commitment to each other, while Tintu, who has also embraced the idea of Kannan, steps in to ensure the formalities of justice are observed.
The film closes with the reunion of Kannan and Radhu, their love tested by crime, loyalty, and the blurred lines between protector and perpetrator. The pair steps forward into an uncertain future, their bond unshaken by the battles waged around them, and their resolve to find happiness together stronger than ever.
