Orphaned siblings Jackie Gail O’Grady and Tom Harold Pruett are thrilled to be chosen for a high-stakes treasure hunt offering a prize of one million dollars. The game unfolds inside a grand Italian castle owned by the enigmatic host, Diablo Adam Ant. A colorful cast of contestants races through winding corridors, chasing a single check that stands between them and a life-changing payout. The entire event is filmed for a MTV-style music channel and sponsored by the recording company behind pop star Cassandra Castle Bunty Bailey, who travels with the players alongside VJ Rex Richard Blade. Cassandra, however, keeps to her private room, preferring alcohol and isolation to the chaos of the hunt, a detachment that foreshadows the trouble ahead.

On a whim Cassandra makes a shady deal with Rex to keep the money on her person so no contestant can uncover it, promising them a split of the winnings when the contest ends. As the hunt kicks off, the players surge through the castle in a frantic search, unaware of the creeping supernatural forces that are picking them off one by one and shaping the night into something far more dangerous than a mere game. The contest’s rules and prizes become secondary to the castle’s eerie energies, which snatch the prize away and carry it on a magical breeze, shuttling the check from room to room and making victory feel almost impossible.

As the body count and tension rise, only Jackie, Cassandra, and Tom remain, and they confront a mounting sense that something deeply wrong lurks within the castle walls. Jackie climbs to the top of the fortress and discovers a chamber containing a crystal ball that reveals Diablo’s true nature: a demon who has captured the souls of the other contestants inside the orb and intends to drag them all to Hell, with his next target being Tom. Meanwhile, a dangerous romance has blossomed between Cassandra and Tom, complicating loyalties even further. Tom also locates the check near the pair, but Cassandra—haunted by the lure of fame and wealth—chooses to burn the check in a fireplace, only for Diablo to magically summon her and reprimand her for sabotaging his plan. He reveals that Cassandra had entered into a contract with him, trading her soul for power, and that she will now pay a dreadful price.

In a desperate bid to save both Tom and Cassandra, Jackie offers her own soul in a bargain with Diablo. Horrified, Cassandra ultimately rejects the dreadful terms, and in a bold move, she destroys Diablo’s crystal ball, shattering his control and bringing the contestants back to life. The reversal frees Cassandra as well, who later reveals that Diablo had engineered the whole scenario to lure her into a soul-dealing trap, only to have her bargain turn the tables and let her continue as a VJ on the music channel. The film closes with Diablo hosting a new music broadcast and announcing another contest that will lure fresh victims into his sinister game. In the aftermath, the castle’s eerie power dims, but the threat lingers, hinting at future schemes from the demon who thrives on temptation and spectacle.
