Karam Jindal [Anupam Kher] and his wife Sandhya [Rati Agnihotri], along with his widowed mother, set out for a new life in London, England, building a world of wealth and influence that would make the Jindal family one of the city’s most recognized names. Soon after they arrive, Gayatri is diagnosed with cancer and passes away, leaving a profound void in the family. Sandhya gives birth to two daughters, Anjali and Sanam [Shriya Saran], and the Jindals’ fortunes continue to rise, cementing their position among London’s elite.
The narrative tracks the family’s domestic life and alliances with a careful eye toward tradition and ambition. Anjali eventually marries Akash, while Sanam grows up with her own ideas about love and partnership. As grand plans swirl around Karam’s 60th birthday, Anjali throws herself into preparations for a lavish celebration, and Karam lays out his hopes that Sanam will marry Yash [Indraneel], his trusted employee who has become like a son to him. The birthday week also marks the ceremonial inauguration of the Gayatri Jindal Cancer Hospital, a symbolic milestone that underscores the family’s public legacy.
Against this backdrop of festivity and family dynamic, Karam brings home a young man named Rohan “Ricky” Verma to stay for a few days. Sanam has already met him and forms a quick, friendly bond with the newcomer. She confides in her mother that she would like to marry Rohan, and her mother seems to approve of the match. Yet Karam recoils at the idea of this union, vehemently opposing it and withholding the reason from everyone around him. The tension thickens as the truth behind his resistance remains a secret known only to him.
In a hush of impending fate, the story reveals a chilling twist: Rohan is Death itself, walking with Karam for the final four days of his life. This extraordinary revelation reframes every relationship within the family and casts a pall over the birthday festivities, the hospital’s triumph, and the dreams of Sanam and Yash. As the clock ticks, the Jindal household confronts questions of duty, mortality, and what it means to truly live under the shadow of the end.
