Show Me 2004

Sarah [Michelle Nolden] is stuck in traffic, irritated as a pair of teenagers, Jenna [Katharine Isabelle] and Jackson [Birkett Turton], try to wash her windshield. After she mutters at them, they persuade her to drive a little farther to a spot where they can beg without drawing attention. Spotting more teens nearby, Jenna pulls out a knife and orders Sarah to keep driving toward a remote cabin in the wilderness. Once there, the teens tie her up and torment her, turning the car ride into a dangerous game of control and fear. As the situation tightens, Sarah weighs a dangerous option: she tries to lure Jackson into a moment of vulnerability by appearing to flirt, hoping to create an opening to escape. When Jackson lashes out and attempts to rape her, she defends herself with a rock, knocks him unconscious, and makes a break for the forest, slashing the tires so they can’t easily pursue her.

Back at the cabin, Jenna and Jackson drink wine Sarah left behind and grow bolder. Jackson makes a move on Jenna, and they sleep together, though Jenna seems uneasy about the encounter. By morning, Jenna leaves Jackson and wanders into the woods to self-harm, while Sarah is still wandering the wilderness, trying to find her way. In a quiet moment, Sarah discovers tree carvings that lead to a photo of Jenna’s mother, who died in a car accident, deepening the mystery of what brought these two girls to this place. After stumbling upon Jenna asleep on the ground with fresh wounds, Sarah decides to take her back to the cabin.

The trio ends up spending a night drinking and listening to stories as Jenna’s 17th birthday arrives. A tense reveal shifts the dynamics: Sarah is openly a lesbian, and her relationship with her partner Sam has become strained as they approach their tenth anniversary. Jenna and Sarah share a kiss, complicating loyalties and emotions. The next morning, a photo found among Jenna’s belongings reveals a startling truth: Jenna and Sarah are siblings.

A man Jenna had met at a gas station appears at the cabin, and Sarah tries to pass him off as her child to avoid suspicion. When he notices the broken window on Sarah’s car, Jackson attacks him and kills him. Panic erupts, and Jackson and Jenna flee to the woods, plotting to murder Sarah so she cannot testify. Sarah follows, offering to lie to help them leave. In a brutal moment, Jackson pins her down and urges Jenna to cut her throat, but Jenna cannot go through with it. Betrayed and devastated, Jackson runs to the lake and drowns, leaving the two women shaken and exhausted.

In the end, Sarah drops Jenna off on a road and hands her an expensive bracelet before driving away, remarking that all she ever wanted was to save them.
