Sohorer Ushnotomo Din E is a coming-of-age love story set in Kolkata. The film follows two Kolkata-bred individuals, Ritoban and Anindita, whose budding romance gets a second chance when Ritoban, a disillusioned PhD student in London, returns to Kolkata after three years and crosses paths with his college sweetheart, now a successful RJ. As memories of their romance unfold across the city’s iconic spots, the story traces the dreams they once hoped to realize together, complicated by a devastating incident that forced them to part ways. Ritoban flew to London, while Anindita—who had entertained a similar move—stayed back to shoulder familial responsibilities, all the while secretly hoping for Ritoban’s return.

In the present, their college friends gather to share their journeys over the years, yet the two ex-lovers maintain a cautious distance, weighed down by apologies, unspoken words, and piling grievances. A cathartic moment gradually softens the hurt, and Ritoban confesses that life in London feels hollow without Anindita. Anindita also admits the pain she carried staying behind and facing life without him.

As their old feelings flicker back to life, a new turn arrives: Anindita is offered a fresh opportunity to pursue her dream course in London.
