Rahul Khanna is the pampered only son of wealthy industrialists who have little time for him. With endless free time, he seeks thrills and tends to push the edge, often finding trouble in his wake. He can usually dodge consequences thanks to favors and bribes, living with a sense of invincibility as he carves out a reckless path with his friends. But one reckless act marks a turning point: in a rush to catch a flight to America, he meddles with the traffic lights, turning them all green and setting off a chain of crashes that cannot be ignored.
This time the offense is too serious to buy his way out, and he is arrested. DCP Bhosle wants to teach Rahul a lesson but can’t think of a suitable alternative beyond making him do time behind bars.
Neha Sengupta, inspired by a Bill Clinton newspaper article, comes up with a unique punishment idea for Rahul: community service. The judge likes this plan and approves it, sentencing the remorseless Rahul to a senior citizens’ home out in the country.
At the rural senior citizens’ home, Rahul finds the residents wary and resistant to change, and the clash between generations sparks both humor and tension as he adjusts to a slower pace and unfamiliar routines. Sparks fly as he navigates relationships with people who don’t always see eye to eye with him, leading to moments of awkward humor, awkward lessons, and unlikely connections.
The story unfolds with a quiet, observational tone that highlights the contrasts between wealth, youth, and the wisdom accrued through years. As Rahul spends time with the elderly residents, the film explores how privilege can be challenged by real-world consequences and how genuine human interaction can slowly nudge someone toward a different path. Through these interactions, the narrative invites viewers to consider growth, accountability, and the transformative power of empathy within a setting that is at once intimate and unexpectedly lively.
