Karthik, ACP Vijay Prakash, a seasoned police officer, is bewildered by the conflicting statements about his identity as he digs into a puzzling case. Three young women seem to share a mysterious connection with him, each insisting that Karthik is their husband who vanished days or even months earlier. An elderly man confined in an asylum claims he once knew Karthik as Krishnamurthy, a man said to have died three decades ago. The very next day, that same man is found murdered, turning a routine inquiry into a murder investigation.

After the old man’s death, a new claimant steps forward: Priya, who asserts that Karthik is her husband and has been missing since the previous day. The police—who had already arrested Karthik two days earlier as a suspect in the old man’s murder—are stunned by this fresh development. As the probe unfolds, Karthik struggles to recognize the other three women who insist they are his wives.

In a tense turn, one of the women is brought to the imprisoned Karthik. When she spots him, they exchange a smile, but she suddenly pulls a gun and fires. The investigation is interrupted by Satya, the journalist who steps in to understand her motive. She recounts a tale of love, marriage, and a mounting misunderstanding that led her to believe Karthik betrayed her, prompting her drastic act.

The woman’s story reveals a larger motive: she, along with the other women, had been drawn into a drama orchestrated by Saraswati, an older woman who manipulates events to punish Karthik. Saraswati is depicted as the ex-wife of Karthik’s father, Krishnamoorthy, with a dark history that includes the murder of her own father and the family of Bhanu, Krishnamoorthy’s fiancée. A chilling revelation ties the past to the present: Krishnamoorthy’s son, the surviving child, is revealed to be Karthik himself.

In the present tense, Saraswati’s fixation on Karthik blurs the lines between memory and reality as she tries to eliminate him. She kidnaps Priya and uses the threat of suicide to force Karthik into a corner. ACP Vijay Prakash sustains an injury in the ensuing struggle, and the police shoot Saraswati in the leg. She then takes her own life rather than reveal Priya’s hiding place. With Saraswati neutralized, Karthik and the authorities locate Priya in a basement; Priya apologizes for the earlier misunderstandings, and the couple—Karthik and Priya—reunite, choosing to face the future together.
