Sundaram, a poor man, arrives in Madras with big dreams of becoming a film actor, but ends up taking a job as a hotel waiter to make ends meet. His journey begins in the bustling city streets, where fate nudges him closer to a life he only imagined in the glow of cinema. While serving a group of travelers headed for an excursion to Mahabalipuram, he encounters Radha, the daughter of his restaurateur, Chakravarthy. Her warmth and friendliness spark a moment of misread affection in Sundaram, who mistakes her kindness for love and finds himself falling for her.

In the same bustling orbit, Sundaram runs into his old friend, the influential businessman Raghavan, at the restaurant. He shares his ambitions to act and his growing feelings for Radha, careful not to name her. Raghavan, believing there is a mutual spark, acts as a mentor and counselor, encouraging Sundaram to muster up the courage to express his love and chase the chance he’s always wanted.

When Raghavan is about to leave his house for a marriage proposal, Sundaram describes the girl he’s been dreaming about to him.
