A distant cosmic event reshapes reality when a powerful entity known as the Beyonder creates a new world called Battleworld and forcibly gathers Earth’s greatest heroes and notorious villains there. He stocks this planet with advanced weapons and strange technology, then proclaims with absolute confidence: “I am from beyond! Slay your enemies and all that you desire shall be yours! Nothing you dream of is impossible for me to accomplish!” The scene is set for a grand, high-stakes clash that blends spectacle with strange new rules of power.

The assembled forces span a wide spectrum. On the side of the heroes stand familiar faces from the Avengers—Captain America, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Iron Man, She-Hulk, Thor, The Wasp, and the Hulk—along with a splintered roster from the Fantastic Four (the Human Torch, Mister Fantastic, and the Thing). Spider-Man and Spider-Woman join the fray, while the cosmic reach extends to the X-Men, including Colossus, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Professor X, Rogue, Storm, Wolverine, and even the dragon-like ally Lockheed. Magneto is initially treated as a champion of the cause, but his status is quickly redefined as the Avengers question his presence. From the outset, battles erupt around a central question: who can bend this new reality to their will? Ultron drains energy from Galactus in one skirmish, while the Watchful Doom observes from the sidelines, later joining the fray with crafty maneuvers. The xeon-like momentum shifts as Magneto departs, leaving the heroes feeling the sting of rejection, and Kang’s assault on Doom’s position punctuates the fragile balance of power. The heroes score early victories, but the tides turn when Ultron—rebuilt by Doom—returns with renewed menace. An attempt to subdue Magneto leads to the capture of The Wasp, carried away to a fortress where a brutal weather-and-isolation trap isolates them from the rest of the battle. The X-Men eventually align with Magneto, while Doom forges new threats by unleashing villainesses Titania and Volcana and then orchestrating a sweeping assault on the heroes that buries their base under a mountain.

As the conflict unfolds, Thor and the Enchantress drift back into play, and Thor disappears briefly before returning with a hidden escape. Doom engineers a chilling power play by ordering Ultron to kill Kang and then uses Klaw to expand his reach. The X-Men’s decision to join Magneto reshapes the balance, and the Wasp escapes, while the Hulk’s hidden rescue reveals a surprising turn of events: the Hulk has been protecting everyone from the mountain’s collapse. Parallel to these strategic battles, Colossus develops a quiet romance with an alien healer named Zsaji, and the Wasp forges a tentative friendship with the Lizard, even as the Wrecking Crew inflicts grievous wounds. The second Spider-Woman, Julia Carpenter, is introduced, signaling new twists in loyalties and alliances. As Galactus intensifies his threat, Doom’s forces regroup; Galactus is drawn away, and the remaining heroes rally around a plan to confront the cosmic hunger head-on.

In a dramatic turn, Doctor Doom constructs a device using Klaw’s body to siphon Galactus’s power, even as Galactus tries to absorb his own ship to sustain his hunger. With newfound control, Doom then seizes the Beyonder’s power, tipping the balance decisively toward his faction. Molecule Man later revives the villains and carts the suburbs of Battleworld back to Earth, redistributing the landscape to suit his design. Doom summons the heroes to a climactic “Tower of Doom,” revives Kang, and unveils a sobering truth: Galactus has been diverted to a hidden fate by Nova. When the heroes resist Doom’s demand to join him or face annihilation, Zsaji sacrifices herself to revive them, and they face Klaw and the monstrous echoes of Ultron in a renewed showdown.

The Beyonder, having briefly possessed Klaw, reclaim his powers and transports Doom and Klaw away. After Zsaji’s funeral, a transformative revelation emerges: the energy released by the Beyonder has turned Battleworld into a place where wishes can come true. A portal is built by Mr. Fantastic to return everyone home, marking the end of the immediate crisis. Yet the aftermath reshapes lives in lasting ways: the Thing can revert to Ben Grimm at will and chooses to stay aboard Battleworld for a year to explore the galaxy, and a slate of tie-in developments foreshadow new dynamics back on Earth—the She-Hulk stepping into the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man’s symbiotic black costume altering his identity, Colossus’s heartbreak with Kitty Pryde, and the Hulk’s resurfacing rage and injured leg, signaling the return of a more primal, animalistic Hulk in subsequent issues.

The narrative threads extend beyond the immediate clash.
