In the closing days of World War I, a covert U.S. “Mystery Ship” sails toward the Spanish coast towing a submarine, tasked with hunting a notorious German U‑boat that has decimated Allied shipping. Disguised as an innocuous schooner but armed with a powerful gun, the crew stops in the Canary Islands to refuel, encounters locals sympathetic to the Germans, and meets the sister of the U‑boat commander, who watches the impending battle from offshore.
