Samantha Gray, Lynne Frederick a famous figure skater, is engaged to London businessman John Leyton Alan Falconer. On the day of their wedding, Jack Watson William Haskin, an ex-convict, begins stalking Samantha. Over the next few days, Haskin terrifies her by leaving bloody knives in various locations, including her own home, turning her life into a chilling ordeal that blurs the line between fear and suspicion.

Samantha confides in her psychiatrist friend Leonard Hawthorne, who explains a troubling history: Haskin was once her mother’s lover and is claimed to have killed her mother in a brutal argument. With Haskin now released from prison, Samantha fears that the threat is far from over and that he may be moving toward her with deadly intent. That night, Leonard is found murdered in his car, his throat slashed, shattering the fragile sense of safety around Samantha.

Seeking guidance and relief, Samantha’s housekeeper, Mrs Wallace, Queenie Watts takes her to see Joy, a medium who channels Leonard’s spirit. Joy delivers a warning: the killer is close by, somewhere near Samantha’s world. On their way back to the house, tragedy strikes again when Joy is bludgeoned with a hammer and thrown beneath a moving bus, a violent act that deepens the sense of peril surrounding Samantha. When Samantha returns home, she discovers Mrs Wallace dead in the cellar, stabbed through the head, a stark and brutal reminder that danger is not just a distant fear but a present, tangible threat.

The tension culminates in a confrontation with Haskin at Alan’s factory. He asserts that he is not a murderer and that his conviction was wrongful, but the truth reveals a darker layer: Samantha herself suffers from a split personality, one part of which is murderous and responsible for her mother’s death. He explains that the bloody knives were intended as clues designed to provoke memory and confession. A physical struggle ensues, ending with Haskin fatally impaled on one of the factory machines, a grim and definitive end to his pursuit.

In the aftermath, Alan and Samantha prepare for their honeymoon, stepping into a future that feels both hopeful and shadowed by the recent revelations. Yet the final twist lingers: Samantha has packed a knife in her luggage, hinting at an unresolved inner conflict and the possibility that danger may still linger beneath the surface, even as outward appearances suggest a fresh start.
