Sher Singh, Govinda, a struggling scriptwriter, is in love with Nisha Raveena Tandon, a Marathi woman. During a visit to Swami Trilokanand Shammi Kapoor, the sage prophesies that Sher will marry two women, a prediction that unsettles him and casts a long shadow over his future.

Back home, Nisha’s wealthy father arranges her marriage to his friend’s son, Vicky Raj Zutshi, a man who has cherished Nisha for a long time. Meanwhile, Sher’s sister’s future hinges on a different arrangement: to secure a good husband for her, Sher agrees to marry Sweety Mahima Chaudhry, a Punjabi girl who has loved him since childhood. This exchange—sacrificing one life for another—takes him back to Mumbai with Sweety, setting up a secret that will challenge three lives.

Nisha refuses to marry Vicky and even contemplates ending her life. To pacify her, her father pressures Sher to wed Nisha, and Sher marries her without telling her about Sweety. After the ceremony, he finally confesses to Nisha’s father that he is already married. The father urges Sher to keep the secret, while Vicky’s jealousy grows and he intends to secure Nisha by force. In the ensuing struggle, Nisha’s father is killed, and Vicky seems to die in an accident; as a result, Nisha never learns the truth about Sher’s bigamy.

Seven years pass, and Sher Singh now leads a dangerous double life. He has a son with each wife, and the two boys, Tuktuk Shekhar and Tony Singh, are exact lookalikes. The boys are admitted to the same school, and their mothers, along with Sher, begin to move in the same social circles. To maintain the ruse, Sher switches identities between Sher Singh in Mumbai and Shekhar at night, convincing both wives that there are two separate people involved. Yet the boys’ growing suspicion about their uncanny similarities intensifies the tension, and it seems the truth could emerge at any moment.

Then comes a shocking twist: a second Shekhar appears, claiming to be Nisha’s husband and bearing the same face as Sher. The situation spirals as Sher must decide how to protect his family without revealing his bigamy. Meanwhile, he becomes entangled in a murder accusation, adding pressure to an already fragile web of lies. The real revelation, however, is more dramatic: Vicky is not dead after all—he survived and underwent face reconstruction to resemble Sher, with plans to win Nisha back. Vicky closes in on Nisha, threatening the delicate balance of Sher’s double life.

In a climactic showdown, Sher’s two wives refuse to abandon him and fight to protect their family. The final act blends comedy and chaos as misunderstandings flare, identities collide, and loyalties are tested. Yet the film resolves in a typically upbeat fashion: the threats are overcome, the truth is faced, and the family finds happiness together, proving that love, resilience, and a touch of humor can weather even a kaleidoscope of secrets.
