Odile, Sabine Azéma, a sharp and ambitious business executive, is married to Claude, Pierre Arditi, a weak, furtive man. In the past Odile was close to Nicolas, Jean-Pierre Bacri, a successful businessman who is now married with kids and returning to Paris after eight years away. She is looking for a bigger apartment from Marc, Lambert Wilson, the estate agent who becomes central to the story. Her younger sister Camille, Agnès Jaoui, has just completed her doctoral thesis in history and works as a Paris tour guide. Simon, André Dussollier, a regular on Camille’s tours because he’s attracted to her, though he claims to be researching his historical radio dramas. Camille has fallen for Marc, and the two begin an affair.
