A Staten Island televangelist tale follows Reverend Randall, a public spiritual figure who secretly bilks his flock and secretly watches pornography while rehearsing sermons in his grand, quiet home. The revelation of his double life collides with Rhonda Stample, a devout born-again believer who faithfully tunes into his programs and regularly sends him money, much to the irritation of her non-believer husband, Jerome.

After Jerome loses his factory job, Lenore arrives at Randall’s doorstep during a rainstorm, claiming car trouble. What unfolds is a charged round of seduction and retreat between the two, spiraling into a moment of violent intimacy. That same evening, Jerome shows up with two boorish neighbors and they lash out, believing the encounter with Lenore to be unwanted, leaving Randall to confront a dangerous, escalating confrontation.

The group briefly considers blackmail as a way to leverage the situation, but Randall escapes from his home rather than be forced into any scandal. The next morning, Rhonda finds him hitchhiking and suggests bringing him deeper into her version of the ministry, a proposal he reluctantly accepts in order to shield himself and perhaps to seize the opportunity she offers.

As Rhonda’s influence grows, the ministry flourishes and Jerome, Lenore, and the neighbors enjoy a higher standard of living. Yet Rhonda’s power begins to expand in unexpected ways, demanding that all others be removed from the ministry and that she take a larger share of the proceeds. Randall resists, but ultimately yields, caught between ambition, loyalty, and fear.

The film concludes with Rhonda taking the reins in a dramatic, almost ritualistic moment: she performs a heavy-metal inspired song of faith, a defiant, electrifying anthem that underscores the volatile shift in control and power.
