What Is Run Boy Run About?

Based on a true story, this film follows eight-year-old Jurek as he escapes the Warsaw ghetto during World War II. Disguised as a Polish orphan, he navigates a perilous journey, surviving in the forests and working on farms. Along the way, he faces betrayal and violence from those seeking reward, but also encounters unexpected kindness and assistance. A devastating accident leaves him disabled, intensifying his struggle for survival. As the Russians advance, he briefly finds a place to belong, only to experience further hardship and a forceful attempt to reunite him with his heritage.
