Shiva R. Madhavan lives in Srirangam and travels to Chennai to gain admission to a college, moving in with his sister Anu Hasan and her husband Raghuvaran. He does not like his brother-in-law and never talks to him despite several attempts made by his sister to convince them. Shiva meets Priya Meera Jasmine during a bus journey, and their paths cross again on a few more occasions until he quietly works up the courage to propose. Yet Priya, though she harbors feelings for him, warns him to stop following her, signaling that their romance will be complicated.
