In 2005, the world is introduced to Rollerball, a breathtakingly brutal sport that fuses roller derby with motorcycles and a heavy metal ball, turning every match into a high-stakes spectacle of speed, risk, and spectacle. Marcus Ridley, a shrewd and very well-paid promoter, brings in the gifted young player Jonathan Cross to join his team, the Zhambel Horsemen, based in Kazakhstan.
