Allan Topher, David Eigenberg, an innovator at Kinetech Labs, develops a highly sophisticated robot designed for search and rescue missions. When he learns the project will be repurposed for military use, he reprograms the robot to escape the facility. During the escape, the robot is damaged and later found by 12-year-old Henry Keller, Bobby Coleman. Henry repairs the robot and names it Cody, Jae Head. With no memory of its origins, Cody forms a close bond with Henry.
