Struggling vampire romance novelist Olivia Romo finds herself spending her Christmas holidays in solitude at her late mother’s cabin in the serene surroundings of Lake Tahoe. One fateful night, a wounded bat unexpectedly crashes against her window, prompting Olivia to nurse the injured creature back to health in her garage. To her shock, the next morning reveals that the bat has transformed into a strikingly handsome vampire, Luke.

In an effort to care for her new guest, Olivia procures pig’s blood from the local butcher, helping Luke regain his strength and voice. As they begin to forge an unlikely friendship, Olivia’s intuition grows anxious about Luke’s true intentions, especially as his troubled past starts to resurface.

The tension escalates with the arrival of vampire hunter Julius King, who approaches Olivia under the guise of a detective, claiming he is searching for a trio of perilous criminals—Luke among them. When Olivia attempts to shield Luke, Julius quickly sees through her deception and tries to capture him, resulting in his own demise.

To make amends, Luke offers criticism on Olivia’s writing, and just as the warmth of their relationship blossoms, his dangerous friends—Jackie and Brock—arrive, threatening her safety and insisting Luke must eliminate Olivia. On a tense Christmas Eve, these vampires invade Olivia’s sanctuary, forcing her to flee for her life using King’s abandoned SUV.

As the chilling vampires execute a late-night killing spree, Olivia uncovers the horrific truths behind Luke’s dark history through King’s records. In a moment of desperation, she contacts Simon for guidance; he warns her against confronting the deadly vampires alone.

Despite the danger, on Christmas morning, Olivia bravely returns to her cabin to confront the vampires, ultimately impaling Brock and Jackie through the heart, putting an end to their threat. In a harrowing twist, she shoots Luke with a crossbow, seemingly vanquishing him too.

Fast forward ten months, and Olivia has emerged as a successful author in the realm of vampire fiction. After a book signing in Los Angeles, she returns to her cabin, where she has imprisoned the tormented Luke in her garage, forcing him to become her muse in exchange for blood, continuing their twisted bond in a haunting yet creative arrangement.
